Due to dimensions and center of gravity of some loads, refer to the loading and
unloading section in the TM of the equipment being loaded, to prevent damage to
equipment. Failure to comply may result in death or injury to personnel. Seek

Outriggers are only designed to stabilize payload. Payload must be fully supported
by semitrailer load bed. Supporting a payload on outriggers may result in damage
to equipment. Failure to comply may result in death or injury to personnel. Seek
medical attention in the event of an injury.
•
Improper load placement can have a detrimental effect on braking, evasive
maneuvers, and handling characteristics of a tractor semitrailer vehicular
combination. Failure to comply may result in death or injury to personnel. Seek
medical attention in the event of an injury.
•
Use a speed of less than 2 mph when loading and unloading vehicles, especially
tracked vehicles. Higher speeds will exaggerate motions and create hazardous
conditions which could damage equipment. Failure to comply may result in death

Do not work under gooseneck without lock pins securely in place. Failure to
comply may result in death or injury to personnel. Seek medical attention in the
event of an injury.

ALWAYS ensure semitrailer is coupled to towing vehicle and all parking brakes are
set prior to attempting to free lock pins that will not retract. Failure to comply may
result in death or injury to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of
an injury.
•
Unless otherwise specified, perform all Preventive Maintenance Checks and
Services (PMCS) with semitrailer on level ground, uncoupled, and brakes set.

Semitrailer must be disconnected from towing vehicle to replace kingpin. Failure to
comply may result in death or injury to personnel. Seek medical attention in the
event of an injury.
•
Lower semitrailer to ground to allow gooseneck to fully lower. Failure to comply
may result in death or injury to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of
an injury.
•
Failure to torque fasteners to the specified torque may lead to fastener failure and
consequent loss of vehicle control. Failure to comply may result in death or injury
to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of an injury.
