REMOVAL

1.

Turn adjusting screw (Figure 1, Item 5) counterclockwise to release tension on slack adjuster

(Figure 1, Item 6).

2.

Remove cotter pins (Figure 1, Item 4) and clevis pins (Figure 1, Item 6) from slack adjuster clevis

(Figure 1, Item 3) and clevis. Discard cotter pins (Figure 1, Item 6).

3.

Remove retaining ring (Figure 1, Item 9) and flat washer (Figure 1, Item 8) from camshaft (Figure 1, Item 7).

4.

Loosen jamnut (Figure 1, Item 1).

5.

Back off slack adjuster nut (Figure 1, Item 2) until it separates from slack adjuster clevis

(Figure 1, Item 3).

6.

Slide slack adjuster (Figure 1, Item 6) off camshaft (Figure 1, Item 7).

Remove surface dirt with water and brush.
