REAR BRAKE SHOE CHECK AND ADJUSTMENT
1.
Remove two rubber inspection hole covers (Figure 2, Item 3) from brake drum dust covers (Figure 2, Item 8).
2.
Check brake shoe lining (Figure 2, Item 6) to brake drum (Figure 2, Item 5) clearance through inspection hole
(Figure 2, Item 2). Clearance should be 0.020 to 0.040 in. (0.508 to 1.016 mm).
3.
Remove two rubber adjusting hole covers (Figure 2, Item 1) from brake drum dust cover (Figure 2, Item 8).
4.
Using brake shoe adjusting tool through adjusting holes (Figure 2, Item 4), rotate star wheel (Figure 2, Item 7)
until proper clearance is obtained.
5.
Install two rubber inspection hole covers (Figure 2, Item 3) and two rubber adjusting hole covers
(Figure
2,
Item
1) on brake drum dust covers (Figure 2, Item 8).
