EQUIPMENT CONDITION
MATERIALS/PARTS
Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
Dump body in lowered position (TM 9-2320-272-10).
Fourteen locknuts (Appendix D. Item 309)
Two locknuts (Appendix D, Item 296)
Four cotter pins (Appendix D, Item 85)
Two woodruff keys (Appendix D, Item 728)
1.
Place tailgate control lever (2) in OPEN position.
2.
Remove adjusting nut (10) from threaded end of control rod (8).
3.
Remove locknut (12), screw (7), clevis (9), and washer (11) from tailgate control lever (2). Discard
locknut (12).
4.
Remove locknut (13) and screw (14) and slide tailgate control lever (2) off control rod (8). Discard
locknut (13).
5.
Remove woodruff key (15) from control lever (2). Discard woodruff key (15).
NOTE
Repeat steps 2 through 5 for removal of control linkage at opposite
side. Tailgate control linkage is identical on each side except for
tailgate control lever. Tailgate control lever on left side has a hand
control. Tailgate control lever on vehicle right side does not.
6.
Remove six locknuts (4), screws (6), and three crossshaft bearings (3) from bearing supports (5).
Discard locknuts (4).
7.
Remove two cotter pins (22), nuts (23), link plate (24), and link (16) from control rod (8), tailgate
latch (20), and dump body (1). Discard cotter pins (22).
8.
Slide control rod (8) from front of dump body (1).
9.
Remove three locknuts (17), washers (18), screws (21), and tailgate latch (20) from hole (19) in rear
of dump body (1). Discard locknuts (17).
NOTE
Repeat steps 7 through 9 for removal of control linkage at opposite
side of dump body.
