1.

Insert bar end of tailgate latch (8) through hole (7) in dump body (1) and install with three screws (9),

washers (6), and new locknuts (5).

2.

Insert yoke end of control rod (2) through slots (14) in crossmembers (15) of dump body (1) to

tailgate latch (8).

3.

Insert upper stud (4) of link (3) through hole in tailgate latch (8) and yoke side of control rod (2).

4.

Insert lower stud (13) of link (3) into hole in dump body (1).

5.

Install link plate (12) on link (3) with two nuts (11) and new cotter pins (10).

6.

Install three crossshaft bearings (20) on control rod (2).

7.

Position three crossshaft bearings (20) against outer bearing brackets (26) and install with six

screws (27) and new locknuts (28).

8.

Place tailgate control lever (16) in OPEN position.

9.

Place new woodruff key (19) on tailgate control lever (16).

10.

Install tailgate control lever (16) on control rod (2) with screw (18) and new locknut (17).

11.

Place clevis (22) on threaded end of control rod (2) and install washer (24) and clevis (22) on tailgate

control lever (16) with screw (21) and new locknut (25).

12.

Install adjusting nut (23) on threaded end of control rod (2).

NOTE

Repeat steps 8 through 12 for tailgate control linkage on opposite

side.
