Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).

Hood raised and secured (TM 9-2320-272-10).

Two key washers (Appendix D, Item 267)

Antiseize tape (Appendix C, Item 72)

Battery ground cables disconnected (para. 3-126).

Remove reducer bushing (2), thermal close valve (3), and tee (1) from water manifold (19).

Remove nut (28) and wire (29) from heater pump (6) and ground terminal (27).

Remove nut (26) and wire (25) from heater pump relay (24).

NOTE

Have drainage container ready to catch excess coolant.

Remove clamp (17), clamp (21), and hose (20) from connector (9) and pump outlet tube (18).

Remove connector (9) and adapter (22) from elbow (23).

NOTE

Mark position of elbow for installation.

Remove elbow (23) from heater pump (6).

Remove heater pump (6) and nipple (4) from tee (1).

Remove clamp (5) and heater pump (6) from bracket (8) and support (10).

Remove two nuts (12), washers (11), screws (7), and bracket (8) from support (10).

Remove two screws (13), key washers (14), bracket (15), and support (10) from exhaust port (16).

Discard key washers (14).
