NOTE

Engine oil pan is mounted using screw-assembled washers on late

model engines.

1.

Install new engine oil pan gasket (3) and oil pan (8) on engine block (14) and front gearcase

cover (1) with brace (11), four washers (13), screws (12), thirty washers (9), and screws (10). Do not

tighten screws (12) and (10).

2.

Install rear of oil pan (8) on flywheel housing (2) with four washers (4) and screws (5). Do not

tighten screws (5).

3.

Install new engine oil pan gasket (3) and oil pan (8) on flywheel housing (2) with six washers (6) and

screws (7). Tighten screws (7) alternately 70-80 lb-ft (95-109 N•m).

4.

Alternately tighten screws (12) 35-40 lb-ft (20-54 N•m).

5.

Alternately tighten screws (10) 15-40 lb-ft (20-54 N•m).

6.

Connect oil pickup hose (16) to suction flange (18).

7.

Connect oil return hose (19) to aerator (17).

8.

Install oil pickup hose (16) and return hose (19) on oil pan (8) with two clamps (15), washers (21),

and screws (20). Tighten screws (20) 35-40 lb-ft (48-54 N•m).
