EQUIPMENT CONDITION
MATERIALS/PARTS
Gasket (Appendix D, Item 197)
Seal (Appendix D, Item 603)
Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
Hood raised and secured (TM 9-2320-272-10).
1.
Disconnect tachometer drive cable (8) from tachometer drive (9).
2.
Remove cover (3) and seal (4) from front gearcase cover (5) by turning cover (3) and seal (4)
counterclockwise. Discard seal (4).
3.
Remove drive hub (6) from tachometer drive (9).
4.
Remove two screws (l), washers (2), tachometer drive (9), and gasket (7) from cover (3). Discard
gasket (7).

For general cleaning instructions, refer to para. 2-14.
2.
For general inspection instructions, refer to para. 2-15.
3.
Replace all parts failing inspection.
1.
Install new gasket (7) and tachometer drive (9) on cover (3) with two washers (2) and screws (1).
2.
Install drive hub (6) on tachometer drive (9).
3.
Install new seal (4) and cover (3) on front gearcase cover (5).
4.
Connect tachometer drive cable (8) to tachometer drive (9).
