e. Oil Pan Installation
NOTE
Prior to installation, fill joint between oil pan rail, front gear case
cover, and rear cover with sealing compound.
1.
Apply sealing compound to mating surfaces of engine block (1) and oil pan (6).
2.
Position new gasket (2) on oil pan (6) with raised bead facing oil pan (6).
3.
Install oil pan (6) on engine block (1) with thirty-two new lockwashers (3), washers (4), and
screws (5).
4.
Install new seal (7), new washer (9), and two plugs (8) on oil pan (6).
FOLLOW-ON TASKS:
Fill engine crankcase to proper level (LO 9-2320-272-12).
Check oil pan for leaks.
