Inspect bearings (11) (TM 9-214). Replace if damaged.

1.

Install two grease fittings (4) in shaft (5).

2.

Install spacer (13) on bracket (3) with plate (2), two new lockwashers (14), and screws (1).

3.

Pack two bearings (11) with GAA grease and install in roller (12) (TM 9-214).

NOTE

New felt washers must be soaked in lubricating oil before

installation.

4.

Position a new felt washer (10) and thrust washer (9) on each end of roller (12) with felt washer (10)

next to bearing (11).

5.

Slide roller (12), two bearings (11), felt washers (11), and thrust washers (9) into bracket (3).

6.

Ensure locking slot of shaft (5) is on bottom and facing away from winch and install shaft (5)

through bracket (3) and roller (12).

7.

Install lockplate (8) in slot in shaft (5) and on bracket (3) with two new lockwashers (7) and

screws (6).

FOLLOW-ON TASK: Lubricate roller assembly (LO 9-2320-272-12).
