1.

Attach utility chain to straddle balance point of inner boom (2).

NOTE

Assistant will help with steps 2 through 5.

Ensure pin hole in extension cylinder is parallel to top surface

of inner boom.

2.

Attach lifting device to chain, align inner boom (2) with outer boom (3) and start inner boom (2) into

outer boom (3).

NOTE

If a second lifting device is not available, use sheave end of inner

boom to permit transfer of chain and lifting device.

3.

Remove chain from inner boom (2).

4.

Attach utility chain and lifting device to sheave (1) of inner boom (2).

5.

While adjusting position of sheave (1) end of inner boom (2), slide inner boom (2) into outer

boom (3) until holes in front of outer boom (3) and extension cylinder (6) align.

6.

Install extension cylinder (6) on outer boom (3) with pin (4) and new cotter pin (5).

7.

Remove lifting device and chain from sheave (1).

8.

Install two boom stops (9) on outer boom (3) with eight new lockwashers (8) and screws (7).
