12-3. DEEP WATER FORDING KIT AIR INTAKE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

This task covers:

a. Removal

1.

Remove locknut (5), washer (3), capscrew (2), and washer (3) from air intake assembly (1) and

windshield mounting bracket (4). Discard locknut (5).

2.

Loosen clamp (6) and remove air intake assembly (1) from air cleaner extension elbow (7).

INITIAL SETUP:

All models except M966, M966A1, M1025,

Equipment Condition

• Weathercap removed (para. 3-18).

• Fuel tank vent stack tube removed (para. 12-8).

b. Installation

1.

Install air intake assembly (1) into air cleaner extension elbow (7) with clamp (6). Tighten clamp (6)

to 45-50 lb-in. (5-6 N

•

m).

2.

Install air intake assembly (1) on windshield mounting bracket (4) with washer (3), capscrew (2),

washer (3), and locknut (5). Tighten capscrew (2) to 43 lb-ft (58 N

•

m).
