Stay clear of rotating PUMP PTO drive shaft.
Clothing or other material may catch
on rotating PUMP PTO drive shaft, causing damage to equipment or serious injury
or death to personnel.
Be sure to wear proper eye protection to prevent injury or death.
Never work on
hydraulic systems or equipment unless there is another person nearby who is
familiar with the operation and hazards of the equipment and can give first aid.
Failure to comply may result in injury or death to personnel.
Never disconnect any hydraulic hose or part while the engine is running.
Allow
several minutes to elapse after shutting off engine, to allow pressure to relieve
itself, before attempting to remove hoses.

CAUTION
Engine must be at idle before engaging PTO.
Failure to comply will result in
damage to PTO and/or transmission.

Step 142.
Put manual pressure control knob to full DEC (counterclockwise) position (WP 0004).
Put HIGH IDLE switch to OFF position (WP 0004).
Put PUMP PTO switch to OFF
position (WP 0004).
Turn Engine Off (TM 9-2320-422-10).
Remove pump house panel
H (WP 0339).
Remove cap from hydraulic oil filter base output port.
Install hydraulic
pressure gauge on hydraulic oil filter base.
Start engine (TM 9-2320-422-10).
Put
PUMP PTO switch to ON position (WP 0004).
Put HIGH IDLE switch to ON position
(WP 0004).
Check if there is 350 PSI (2,413 kPa) to 450 PSI (3,102 kPa) of pressure at
hydraulic oil filter base output port.

If there is 350 PSI (2,413 kPa) of pressure at hydraulic oil filter base output
port, replace hydraulic charge pump (WP 0155).
