MEASURE BATTERY RESISTANCE:
• Dial 77 into TEST SELECT switches and push TEST.
• If GO appears, press starter switch until OFF appears
on VTM display.
• If error message appears, refer to TM 9-4910-571-12&P.

• Compare reading with
resistance change given below.
• Check battery electrolyte level.
• Clean battery terminals.
• Refer to Troubleshooting Index
(WP 0011 00) to check battery
specific gravity.
• Charge battery, if necessary.
• Repeat test on this battery.
• If battery has been charged and battery resistance change
is greater than the limit, replace battery (WP 0127 00).
• Is battery resistance charge
less than above limit?
BATTERY IS OK:
• If vehicle has more than one battery,
perform test on second battery.
• If engine is tight, refer to Mechanical
Systems Troubleshooting Index
(WP 0007 00) to diagnose engine.
