a. Static Overload Test.

(1)

Extend boom (1) to 15 feet, 0 inches.

(2)

Raise boom (1) approximately 25

for a load

radius of 11 feet, 0 inches.

(3)

Lower crane hook (2) with hoist (3).

(4)

Connect 12100 lb test weight (4) to hook (2).

(5)

Attempt to raise test weight (4) with hoist (3).

(6)

Place crane power switch (5) to OFF.

(7)

Depress manual override (6).

(8)

Raise test weight (4) approximately six inches with

hoist (3).

(9)

Release manual override (6).

(10) Depress manual override (6).

(11) Lower test weight (4) to ground with hoist (3).

(12) Release manual override (6).

(13) Disconnect 12100 lb test weight (4) from hook (2).

NOTE

Static overload test is performed with a test

load of 110% of crane rated load on Range

Diagram for this boom extension and

radius.

The overload protection system

should prevent lifting of this test weight.

NOTE

If test weight is lifted refer to troubleshooting

to determine failure of overload protection

system.

NOTE

Hold manual override depressed until test

weight is raised.

NOTE

Test weight will remain suspended.
