5-7. AXLE AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY SPRING SEAT MAINTENANCE (Con’t).

Lower ends of front and rear axles until bottom of main spring assembly (8) and spring center bolt are seated in

spring seat (4).

10.

Position upper spring seat (3) on helper spring assembly (1). Install two U-bolts (2), upper spring seat, helper

spring assembly, main spring assembly (8), and spring seat

(4)

with four new Iockwashers (6) and nuts (5).

Torque nuts to 255-280 Ib.-ft. (346-380 N-m).

11.

Torque two bolts (7) on inner face of spring seat (4) to 280-365 Ib.-ft. (380-495 N-m).

12.

Remove jackstand and lower axle and bracket assembly.
