Does brake relay valve supply 60 ± 5 psi (414 ± 34 kPa) to brake chambers?
1.
Have assistant turn engine start switch to ON. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
2.
Push in trailer charge valve in vehicle. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
3.
Perform ICE Test 50.

While assistant fully applies brake pedal, observe meter. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
5.
Meter should display 60 ± 5 psi (414 ± 34 kPa).
CONDITION/INDICATION
Does brake relay valve supply 60 ± 5 psi (414 ± 34 kPa) to brake chambers?
DECISION
Meter displays less than 55 psi (380 kPa) - Replace relay valve (WP
0076). Go to (Step 8 - Do brake(s) apply
correctly?) to verify problem is solved.
Meter displays greater than 65 psi (448 kPa) - Replace multifunction valve (WP
0086). Go to (Step 8 - Do brake(s)
apply correctly?) to verify problem is solved.
Meter displays between 55 and 65 psi (380 and 448 kPa) - Go to (Step 4 - Do brake chamber rods extend when
brake pedal is applied?).

Do brake chamber rods extend when brake pedal is applied?
WARNING
If air lines are disconnected when they are under 125± 5 psi (862± 34 kPa) pressure, they
can whip around. Care should be exercised when disconnecting an air hose that is thought
to be under pressure. Be sure to wear proper eye protection. Failure to comply may result in
injury or death to personnel.
