CONDITION/INDICATION
Are air lines 2254, 2620 and fittings free of crimps?
DECISION
LINES OK - Go to (Step 2 - Does multifunction valve allow air to exhaust from brake chambers?).
LINES CRIMPED - Replace air line(s) and/or fitting(s) (WP
0067). Go to (Step 3 - Do parking brakes apply
correctly?) to verify problem is solved.
STEP 2
Does multifunction valve allow air to exhaust from brake chambers?
WARNING
If air lines are disconnected when they are under 125± 5 psi (862± 34 kPa) pressure, they
can whip around. Care should be exercised when disconnecting an air hose that is thought
to be under pressure. Be sure to wear proper eye protection. Failure to comply may result in
injury or death to personnel.
1.
Have assistant turn engine start switch to ON. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
2.
Pull out trailer charge valve in vehicle and charge trailer air system. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual
(WP
0190).

While assistant pushes in trailer charge valve, listen for air to exhaust from multifunction valve.
CONDITION/INDICATION
Does multifunction valve allow air to exhaust from brake chambers?
DECISION
AIR ESCAPING - Go to (Step 3 - Do parking brakes apply correctly?) to verify problem is solved.
NO AIR - Replace multifunction valve (WP
0086). Go to (Step 3 - Do parking brakes apply correctly?) to verify
problem is solved.
