TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE
PARKING BRAKE(S) ON ONE AXLE DO NOT RELEASE OR DO NOT RELEASE CORRECTLY
STEP 1
Are air lines, fittings, and/or brake chambers free of leaks?
WARNING
Be sure to wear the proper eye protection when working on or around pressurized air systems
if not injury or death could result.
NOTE
Soap and water solution will be used to visually check for leaks.
Trailer air system pressure must be 125 ± 5 psi (861 ± 34 kPa) to begin
troubleshooting the brake system. If the air system pressure cannot be maintained,
refer to Air System Troubleshooting.
Air lines and valves listed in this troubleshooting procedure are illustrated and located
in Air System Schematic.
1.
Have assistant turn engine start switch to ON. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
2.
Push in trailer charge valve in vehicle. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
