DECISION
PARTS OK - Go to (Step 6 - Does suspect parking brake(s) apply correctly?) to verify problem is solved.
PARTS DAMAGED - Replace damaged brake components (WP
0072). Go to (Step 6 - Does suspect parking
brake(s) apply correctly?) to verify problem is solved.
STEP 6
Does suspect parking brake(s) apply correctly?
1.
If removed, install brake drum (WP
0092).
2.
If slack adjuster is disconnected, cage brake chamber. Refer to TM 9-2330-342-10 (WP
0190).

3.
If slack adjuster is disconnected, rotate slack adjuster to rod clevis.
4.
If slake adjuster is disconnected, install rod clevis, two pins, and cotter pins on slack adjuster.
5.
If brake chamber is caged, uncage brake chamber. Refer to TM 9-2330-342-10 (WP
0190).
6.
Ensure vehicle is returned to normal operating condition.
7.
Start engine. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
8.
Push in trailer charge valve in vehicle. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
9.
While assistant pulls out trailer charge valve, observe operation of brake chamber rod(s).
CONDITION/INDICATION
Does suspect parking brake(s) apply correctly?
DECISION
BRAKES PASS - Problem fixed.
BRAKES FAIL - Problem is not fixed. Problem may have been missed during previous steps of troubleshooting.
Repeat all previous steps of this procedure. Go to (Step 1 - Are air lines and fittings free of crimps?). If problem
still exists after all troubleshooting tests are accomplished, contact your Supervisor.
