CONDITION/INDICATION
Are air lines and fittings free of crimps?
DECISION
Lines OK - Go to (Step 2 - Does brake relay valve exhaust air when brake pedal is released?).
Lines Crimped - Replace faulty air line(s) (WP
0067). Go to (Step 7 - Does service brake(s) release correctly?) to
verify problem is solved.
STEP 2
Does brake relay valve exhaust air when brake pedal is released?
NOTE
The relay valve test listed below applies to all brake relay valves.
1.
Have assistant turn engine start switch to ON. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
2.
Push in trailer charge valve in vehicle. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
3.
While assistant fully applies and releases brake pedal, listen for pressure to exhaust from relay chamber. Refer
to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
CONDITION/INDICATION
Does brake relay valve exhaust air when brake pedal is released?
DECISION
Air Exhausts - Go to (Step 3 - Do brake chamber rods retract when brake pedal is released?).
No Air - Replace relay valve (WP
0076). Go to (Step 7 - Does service brake(s) release correctly?) to verify problem
is solved.
