The voltage regulator controls th e
switches and transmitters, and wirin g
harnesses and leads. Electrical power is pro-
vided by a 24-volt, 300-ampere generator an d
four series-parallel-connected, 12-volt storag e
batteries. Output of the generator is controlle d
by a solid state voltage regulator. Electrica l
components are controlled by switches lo -
cated in the driver’s compartment. Leads an d
wiring harnesses distribute current to all elec-
trical components. A slave receptacle allow s
connection of the vehicle electrical system t o
another power source .

Four 12-volt batteries are connecte d
in series-parallel to produce 24 volts, and t o
provide electrical power to start and operat e

output voltage and current of the generator. I t
is a solid state unit and is not adjustable. Cir-
cuit breakers protect the generator from elec-
trical overload .
(5)
The starter is a direct cranking, non -
reversible, 24-volt unit. It is actuated by a
two-coil starter motor solenoid mounted o n
the starter .
(6)
The neutral position switch close s
when the transmission shift lever is in neutra l
position. This completes the circuit for th e
starter control relay to supply battery powe r
to the two starter windings when the star t
switch is pressed .
(2)
The batteries transmit powe r
through contacts in the master relay. Whe n
the master switch is on, the master relay is
energized and power is available to all circuits
in the vehicle .
