Using hammer and drift, remove two up -

per hinge headless straight pins (7) .

Remove lubrication fitting (8) from uppe r

hinge headless straight pin (7) .

two Iockwashers (10), and nut and pi n

boom hinge pin locking plate (11) securin g

each of two lower hinge headless straigh t

pins (12) .

Place rags or suitable pads betwee n

the bottom of the cylinder rods an d

cab wall to protect machined sur -

face of cylinder rods .

Remove two lower hinge headless straigh t

pins (12) from crane boom (2) .

Sling boom as shown to prevent un -

balanced boom action which coul d

cause serious injury .

Use hoist with 2000 lb (908 kg )

minimum lifting capacity to preven t

injury to personnel and damage t o

equipment .

an M88A1 Recovery Vehicle, i f

available, may be used for lifting .
