REPLACE REAR COMPARTMENT AIR VENTILATOR — Continued

INSTALLATION

NOTE

1.

Install new gasket (3) and valve (4) on cover (2).

2.

Align three spacers (5) and cover (2) with hull mount. Secure with three screws (1). TIGHTEN SCREWS TO 75-80

LB-FT (102-108 N·M) TORQUE. Use torque wrench (WP 0780 00, Item 103).

WARNING

Metal chips and grinding dust can cause eye injury. Wear goggles and gloves.

3.

Install three studs (10) in cover (2), tighten, and if studs extend out of the cover, grind exterior surface flush with cover.

4.

Insert spring (6) and two balls (7) in cover post, and stake post four places so balls extend 1/16 inch (1.588 mm)

minimum from post.

5.

Install gasket (3) on valve (4) and install valve on cover (2).

6.

Position cover (2) with studs (10) and valve (4) on hull ring, and secure with three washers (9) and new locknuts (8).

TIGHTEN LOCKNUTS TO 300-360 LB-IN (34-41 N·M). Use torque wrench (WP 0780 00, Item 102) and socket.
