10-17. TURRET POWER PACK INTERCHANGEABILITY
General Information:
Power pack damaged beyond repair.
Power packs from the M109, Ml 10, Ml and M48
series vehicles are interchangeable. Reservoirs and motors may vary in size and
capability, but they will function.
Limitations:
None
Personnel/Time Required:
1 soldier
1 hour
Materials/Tool:
Power pack
Hydraulic fluid
Procedural Steps:
1. Disconnect electrical connections.
2. Disconnect all hydraulic lines and plug them.
3. Unbolt and remove power pack.
4. Clean the mounting surfaces carefully.
5. Install new or used power pack.
6. Reconnect electrical connections.
7. Reconnect all hydraulic lines.
8. Replace any lost hydraulic fluid.
9. Perform operational check and inspect for fluid leaks.
10. Record BDAR action taken. When the mission is completed, as soon as practicable,
repair tank using standard maintenance procedures.
