10-19 MAIN ACCUMULATOR DAMAGED

a The hydraulic system used for gun operation can be operated in a degraded

mode if the hydraulic lines are plugged or isolated on the system side of the

accumulator. Operation will be eratic without the buffer action provided by the

accumulator pressure.

b. The accumulator may also be replaced with an accumulator from an Ml tank

or other M48/M60 series tank. The brake system accumulator from the Ml tank may

also be used but the capacity is lower.
