REPLACE DRIVER’S HATCH COVER AND EXTERIOR LOCK - Continued

Place new seal (7) over retaining groove in cover (8) and press seal into place. Trim end, if needed.

4.

Install screw (9) in cover (8) and secure with new

locknut (10).

5.

Align cover (8) with hinge brackets and install two ﬁber washers (11) and shield (12).

6.

Apply light coat of grease to each spring (13). Install springs in shield (12).

7.

Place cover (8) in vertical position and install retainer (14) on hinge brackets. Secure with two screws (15) and new

locknuts (16).

FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS

1.

Install driver’s hatch periscope quick release assembly (see your -10).

2.

Install driver’s hatch periscope guard (WP 0536 00).

3.

Connect driver’s hatch interior latch to cover (WP 0534 00).
