REPLACE DRIVER’S HATCH HOLD-OPEN HOOK AND BUMPER (M113A3, M1059A3,

M1064A3, AND M58 ONLY) — Continued

NOTE

Install washer(s), as needed, to compress bumper 1/4 inch (6 mm) when hold-open hook is

engaged.

2.

Install washer(s) (14) and bumper (13) in hull top plate. From inside carrier, secure with washer (12) and nut (11).

3.

Place block (1) on hull bracket (2). Secure with two screws (3), four washers (4), and two new locknuts (5).

4.

Install S-hook (6) in safety pin (7) and chain (8). Squeeze both ends of S-hook to secure.

5.

Install tube (9) on chain (8).

6.

Install S-hook (10) in chain (8) and on hull bracket (2). Squeeze both ends of S-hook to secure.

FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS

1.

Open and close driver’s hatch cover and engage hold-open hook to check that hook and bumper are installed correctly.
