DISASSEMBLY – Continued
9. Position low range planetary carrier assembly (8), splined hub up, in a press. Press out four pinion spindles (18)
with four lock balls.
NOTE
Do not remove needle bearing assembly from hub bore unless replacement is necessary.
Removal usually damages this bearing.
10. Remove four pinions’ (19) spindle rollers (20) and two thrust washers (21). Remove needle bearing (22) if
necessary. Discard needle bearing if removed.
