(4) Install thrust washer 100 and front-
washer assembly 81. Install retaining ring 80.
(5) Install thrust washer 103 into the
stator assembly.
(6) Install thrust bearing assembly 102
onto freewheel race 101, using oil-soluble
grease to retain it.
(7) Using a heavy oil-soluble grease to
retain them, position the 12 bearings an d
springs in the 12 stator cam pockets. Fig. 148
shows the location of the bearings and springs
in respect to the stator assembly. Install a
spring into the deep end of the cam pocket.
Place a bearing in the shallow end of the cam
pocket beside the spring. Install remaining
11 bearings and springs in the same manner.
(8) Install freewheel race 101 (fig. 373,
fold-out 2) with bearing 102 into the stator as-
sembly .

a . If the oil seal was removed from the
flange adapter, install a new replacement using
oil seal replacer 8351210 (fig. 149).
b . Install oil seal, lip side down, press-
ing the seal until it is seated against it s
shoulder in the adapter (fig. 149).
