Shipping Container (continued)
If the shipping container appears damaged, inspect the contents and look for dents on the
exterior of the heater. There are no loose parts in a functional heater.
! CAUTION !
When transporting the heater, ensure it is done so in the correct orientation, as
depicted in Figure 1.4-1.

Heater Operation Verification
To unpack the heater, complete the following steps:
1.
Open the box.
2.
Verify contents:
(1) Fully Assembled Heater NSN: 2540-01-396-2826.
Note: The Vent Outlet Seal is shipped loose in the plastic bag to avoid
shipping damage from the protective end packaging material.
3.
Lift out top packaging brace.
4.
Lift out the heater (enclosed in the sealed plastic bag) and end packaging pieces.
5.
Remove the two end packaging pieces and remove the heater and seal from the
plastic bag and install the Vent Outlet Seal.
6.
Remove the plastic cap from the fuel inlet.
7.
Save all packaging for shipping or storage.
! CAUTION !
When handling the heater be careful NOT to damage the rubber Outlet Seal on the
Ventilation Air Outlet end as this will affect performance of the heater when installed!

Tools And Supplies
The equipment described does NOT require Metric tools. Operator and Maintenance
Instructions are provided using Imperial/SAE units.
For informational purposes, a Metric
conversion table is included on inside back cover.
