GENERATOR MAINTENANCE

CONSTRUCTION
The generator is a belt driven, air-cooled device used for producing the necessary direct current to charge the vehicle and
equipment batteries.
The generator consists of a drive housing, stator, rotor, anti-drive end housing, and cooling fan.
The
drive end housing contains positive and negative rectifiers, brushes, seals, and bearings.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
a.
The procedures discussed in this section cover complete disassembly of the generator.
b.
In cases where the generator does not require complete disassembly, disassemble only to the point required to
inspect, clean, and replace the damaged component.
