b Perform the test stand procedures in accordance with Appendix D.
c Inspect the Alternator as follows:

Check for missing Iockwashers, and missing or loose screws. Check all parts for
security of attachment. Replace missing hardware and tighten loose parts.
Check leads on brushes that they are not broken, cracked, frayed or oil soaked.
For removal, refer to Chapter 3, Disassembly Step 12.
Replace drive blocks if cracked, worn or warped.
Replace rotor assembly if cracked. Replace rotor assembly if there is a chipped or
scratched area too deep to be sanded with an abrasive crocus cloth (ref Appendix
C, Item Number 1).
Remove bearings (ref Chapter 3, Disassembly Steps 10 and 14). Check for
cracks or wear. Replace if necessary (ref TM 9-214).
Replace terminal leads if burned, bent or broken (ref Chapter 3, Disassembly
Step 12).
