Putting a hat on the RT-500 of your
AN/TPS±25 radar set whenever you re²
move the pedestal is first±rate insurance
against damage.
In this case the "hat³ is the protec´ive
Cover that caps the waveGuide recess and
keeps out dirt and moisture. So remember
to put it on next time around.
If you wan´ your set to keeµ its cool,
the smart thing to do is to remember to

o¶e· all the air eXhaust and in take ports
on the components. Take the covers off.
Fact is, if you forget to open ¸he ex¹
haust port on the RT-500, your set won't
radiateº There'» a draft cut¼out switch in
the port which is pa½t of the ground re¾
turn for the
HY
and radiate relays, and it
wo·'t work until you take the cover off

The leveLing jacks On ´he RT±À00 can
stand a
look
whenever
¸he set is disÁ
mantled .ºº because the screws holding
the threaded portiOn to the base work
loose. And, if the base gets lost, the only
way you can ge i´ is to have support
make itº So if the screws are loose, snug
