Your Kiowa turbine engiNe
can't stay cool withoUt a CompLete
air s±ppLy, and a bad Bleed air
heateR t±be steals some of it. ²n-
less yo± act Fst yo³'re ´irting
with b±rned ±p blades and nozµ
zles.
'¶o±rse the t±be chaNnels hot
air ·om the t±rbine to the cabin
when the heater is on. When the
t±be goes bad, the air escapes
coNtinuously thro±gh the ¸¹exiº
b»e portion of the assembly, if the
Heater is o¼ or o½
A bleed air leak is easy to spot,
tho. The steel mesh will turN
dark ·om the heat. I¾Ot

move the t±be assembLy and blow
thro±gh it. If air comes thrÀ±gh
the mesh, the t±be is no good. ÁeÂ
plaÃe it.
ANother iNdication of a leak is
a high t±rbine o±tlet temperaÂ
t±re reading, and red±ceD power.
