The M9LL's 5th wheel is supposed
to have full 4-way movemEnt .

5th

wheel can move in any direction
when driving from higHway t

dary roads or to off-road conditions.
If the oscillation lockouts are· set
toward the inside, side-to-side moveµ
ment is blocked. Then, if your rig's no¶
on
nearly
level
ground,
the
semitrailer's king pin will bind in the
jaws
of
the
tractor's
5th
wheel.
Uncoupling becomes a chore.

(Oct 77) shows Both positions for the
lockouts. ¸ut you don't need just 2-way
movement. That's only for high speed
highWay driving¹and
the
M911's
max speed of 43 or so MPº isn't high
speed.
Get your mech to set the lockouts to
the outside. ³his'll let your 5th wHeel
move like it should.
