Before you attack that bird for the parts you need, read and heed the word
in AR 750-1, Para 4¶32, and Page 6·5 in FM 55¶42.

After you¸ve got the green lIght to remove the
part, Go to it¹ Remove the part carefUl³yº YoU
don't want to damage It or the a»r¼raft ½t¾s
coming fromº
Be sUre a³l the aff¿cted ³ogbooK forms for
the part on both aircraft are completed as reqUired
by TM 38·À50Á

prImarily a soUrce of partsº
NÄVeÅ remove parts from a wrecked bIrd unti³ the investigatioÈ Is complete
and the parts are re³eased by the accIdent board. Then, the part mUst be
Inspected and foUnd to meet the serviceabilItÉ standards In the appropriate TM
bÊfore it can bË Used.
NevÄÅ exceed any lÌca³ ³IÍIts on cannIbalization periods or the nUÍber of

parts removed from one aircraftº
Control³ed canniba³iÎation can so³ve a teÍporary de³ay In getting parts. BUt
ÏÄVÄr use it as yoUr Íajor soUrce of supply or you'³³ create a hangar fU³³ of
queens!

Repair NewºTyPe Blades
Hold one before yoU scrap a
damaged fiberg³ass rotor b³ade, PÐ
ÑÒ4Ò¶0034, on your AH·ÓS.
Para 5¶30a of TM 55¶1520¶236·23
gives damage ³imiÔs so yoU can repaIr
¸em.
²f the fie³d ³IÍits are exceeded, tho,
the blades go to the depot Õor repair.
