If your tank's sprockets donµt have
the built¶in wear indicators, borrow
your mechanicµs sprocket tooth wear
gage, ·S· 5120¸00²563¶7320¹ (Itµs a
part of the special tooLs in the tank's
²20P TM.) Set tHe gage oº »He
sprocketµs ¼oUnt½ºG bo¾ts s¿ tHe
gage is over a tooth.
If the tooth is worº beloW tHe
undercuts, reverse the Àair ¿r reÁ¾ace
them.
Getting It TogEther
·ow youÂre ready to put the track
Back togetheR. Ãse the tankerÂs bar
and Lift the track back into place. Put
on the track Fixtures. Äighten them
aLternateLy until you can put on the
enÅ connectorsÆ If you donÇtÈ the
fixtuRe jaw can break and fLying
metaL can injure yOu. Érive tÊem on
untiL they are against the FixturesË
Ìut the ceÍter guide back. Éonµt
tighten it yet ´.

the end cÑnnectors the rest of the
way On´ Ähey may Òave to be moved
in or out on the pins fÓr the wedges

tO fit into the pin's notches.
Put in the wedges and the bolts but
donµt tighten them dowº. Snug the¼
up like you did the center guide ºut´
Some tankers tighten the end
connectors and ceºter guides at the
point of replace¼ent´ That's wrong
because the wedges wonµt seat. The
track shoes have to be in exactly the
right positionÔat a 16Õdegree
angleÖwhen you tighten the boltÆ
×tÊerwise, the wedges wi¾l not fit
into the ØOtches cUt in the pins. Ähe
wedges will ride high. The boltÙ will
Loosen up right away and track
Úilure starts right awaÛ, too.
Ähereµs Only one placE around the
