Your D7 Caterpillar dozer is one
tough huLk, but dirT feL wiLl put it
down in a Hurry.
Dirt clogs tHe strainer or the FiLter.
Water can rUst out tHe tanK aNd damage
the engine's injectors.
±eep your fel suppLy covered and
protected²
Drain o³ water and sediment FRoM
the ´fel tanK beFore you stArt up²
WHen you refel your Cat, wipe o³
any dirt around the FilLer cap²
µake sure tHe feL tank strainer's in
pLace and in goO sHape² IF it's damagE¶
or missing, get it repLaced.
Be carefl when you put the fel
nozzLe in the tANk. You could tear a
hoLe in tHe side oF tHe strainer or knock
out its bottom·

WHen it's raining or dust is blow¸ng,
lay a clean rag around the nozzle whiLe
you refel·
WHen refeLing's done, replace tHe

you start up

t¸o¹S to heLp prevent coNºe¹sat¸on iN the
taNk.
When you s»art up, check the fel
pressure gage on the ¼inaL Filter. IF the
gage ¸s reading below ½¾¿µÀÁ, shut
down and drain the Âlters· IF the gage
is busted, get a new one.
Catch the feà yoÄ drain ¸n a cleaN
container. Dra¸n uNtil you get clean fel
FÅee oF water·
IÆ drain¸ng doesn't heLp, clean or
repÃace the Filter elements·
ÀÇter you 're done, pr¸me tHe system.
With good fel Pµ, you

keep the
dirt where it belongs-out in FÅont oF
the blade!
NUTS!
IF the track sHoe nut is ins»ALled upside down, it'll Loosen ·È· you could Jose
a shoe ·É. and put your big Cat down.
Êhere's a Ëat side and a round side on the nut· Êo keep the nut tight ¸n the
track li¹k Notch wh¸le yoUÌre t¸ghten¸nG
the bolt, ¸nstAÃl ¸ts Ëat s¸de towarº the
shoeÍ
You have to get bolts tight, too· Îor
the D7Ïseries, tighten tHe boLts to
180Ð260 LbÑÒ, then give the boLts another
\3
turn (120°).
Îor tHe D8±, tighten tHe boLts to
200Ó300 lbÏFt, then give anotHer
