tive ¸aintenance and good inspections.
Keep speed slow and steady. High speeds build up heat that causes tearing
and chunking.
Start and stop smoothly. Fast starts and panic stops eat up pads in a hurry.
±urn in long, smooth curves. Pivot steering at any speed wears out more
pad rubber in a ºw seconds than a whole day's road march.

¿ook fOr broken or damaged shoes and loose track shoe nuts. When you
Àind a loose one, tighten it.
»eplace worn track pads when the grouser begins to mark a paved road.
Never rUn on a paved road without a pad.
