Starting your F5070 20-ton dump
tRuck when the teMperatUre drops is
easier when you do it right.
Turn the glow plug switch ON and
wait 20 seconds. That lets the gLow plug
warm up in the intake manifld.
Have a b±ddy pull the co²pression
release Lever at the ³ont o´ the engine.
That'µl let the engine turn over easier.
PUmp the preheater primer
·
until you
get 80¶100 PSI.
Crank the e¸gine. When it's t±rning
over, have your buddy Jet go o´ the
compression release.
A¹er the engine starts, pump the
primer sµowly fr a ºw min±tes ±ntil
the engine warms ±» and runs smoothly.
Then pUsh the pri²er handle in and µock
it. Turn the gµow plUg OFF so it'll be
ready fr next ti²e.
I´ the engine doesn't sta¼½ a¹er 30
seconds, stop c¼anKing and stop pump¾
ing the primer. ¿et the starter cooL fr
two minutes.
Àake sure the glow plug is workÁng.
´ the intÃke manÁ´oLd is wa¼m below the
glow plug, the plug's on the job. I´ the
manifld is cold, get your ²echanic to
check out the glow plug.
I´ the »lug's workÁng, t¼y the stÃr½ing
Äoutine again. ´ you ca¸'t get Åhe e¸gine
staÆtE a¹e¼ thÆee attempts, stop and call
your ²echanic.

Then secu¼e the Íood when it's raised by hooKÎng it to a Íandy hoLe in the
