If you let your ML 10A2's "pit± tUrn into the pits, yoU can end Up witH no
commo. Water, dirt, debris and oil can collect and tUrn tHe pit into a grungy
mess. Besides m²³ng Fr a bad p´ace to work, tHe mess can knock coµ¶· cab´es
oUt of commission.
THe water and oi´ work on tHe cable's
cover, eventUally cracKng it and caUs-
ing a sHort. THat means no commUnica¸
tions between tHe driver and gUnner¹
a losing situation in battle.
ºUt it's no sweat to keep tHe pit »om
becom³ng tHe p³ts. WHen yoU park yoUr
ML 10A2, open tHe turret wel´ c´eanoUt
cover so tHat water won't co´´ect. (Be
sure to close tHe cover beFre starting
up again.) And swab oUt tHe pit wHen
needed to ¼O oi´ and dirt.

Next, do a
Hot cHeck.

RÈM Fr one to tHree minUtes. Make
sUre tHe oi´ temperatUre gage reads
between 180° and 220°É. ¿top tHe
engine, wait tHree to Ëve minUtes, and
CHeck tHe oi´ ´eve´ witH tHe engine oÌ.

REÀ¾Ãn¿ WÁ½»Án LÁÀÁ½¿
If tHe oi´ ´eve´ is in tHe OÈERA TING
RANGE, yoU're ready to go. Íf it's ´ow,
add oi´. If it's HigH, reporÎ it. ÃoUr mecH
wi´´ drain some oi´.
