holding the maniµLd heater switch and
the engine starter button ±ntiL the
tachometer reads 450¶500 ·¸M.
MAke A note: ´s long as you use the
maniFOld heater switch and the pRimer
p±mp, yo± m±st continue to hold the
starter switch. ¹hat's becA±se the startº
er electricAL circuit controls the maniº
µLd heAter's cuRrent.
»nce the engine is running smoothLy
at abo±t 700 ·P¼, stop p±mping. ·e½
leAse the heAter maniµLd switch and
stARter button, and increAse ·PM to
1,00¾¿,200 FOr the warmup period.
During warm±p and aFterwArd, don't
idle at Less than 700 ·P¼. ÀowÁ·P¼
idLing causes engine cooLing, not heatº
ing. When you idLe yo±r engine µr
long periods, ±se high idleÂ1,Ã00¶
1,600 ·P¼.

IF you must idle at A lower speed,
watch the exhaust. IF you see white
smoke, increase ·PM to 1,500¶Ä,600.
IF the engine misFiÅEs or blows heavy
blueÆwhite smoke, you'LL hAve to bLow
out the ind±ction and exhAust systems.
To do that, increase ·P¼ to ¿,600¶
Ä,800 µr abo±t 30 seconds to one minº
ute. C´ÇTI»NÈ Stop the engine FÉst iF
the power plant wÊg Light comes on.
IF the engine won't stArt, stop cranKË
ing aFter 15 secoÌds. WAit 3Í5 minutes
and try again. IF it stiLL won'tstaRt, don't
grind away on the staRter. It'LL buÎ Up
and you don't need that probLem.
ÏoLLow the troubLeshooting proceÐ
dures in the
