Remove and disassemble boring case gear assembly. Refer to para 17-46.

2.

If readingin step 4 of frame 3 is less than 0.008 inch, add 0.008 inch

thickness to rack drive gear shim set (1).

3.

If readingin step 4 of frame 3 is more than 0.030 inch, take off 0.020 inch

thickness from rack drive gear shim set (1).

4.

Assemble and replace boring case gear assembly. Refer topara 17-46.

5.

Do frame 1 again.
