Inspect air intake stack for restrictions.
CONDITION/INDICATION
IS AIR CLEANER INDICATOR IN RED ZONE?
DECISION
YES - Perform air cleaner servicing (TM 9-2320-272-10). Go to Step (22) to verify problem is solved.
NO - Go to Step (3).

IS THERE WHITE SMOKE DURING CRANKING?
Try to start engine while checking for white smoke in exhaust.

DECISION
NO - Go to Step (6).
YES - Go to Step (4).
