If thug is heard when connector is disconnected, protective control box is faulty.

Unplug harness connector from protective control box.

Listen for protective control box to reset.

DECISION
YES - Replace protective control box (Volume 2, WP
0319). Go to Step (3) to verify problem is solved.
NO - Perform No Or Low Alternator Output troubleshooting (WP
0089).
