EQUIPMENT CONDITION

General mechanic ’s tool kit (Appendix E, Item 1)

Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).

a. Removal

Remove setscrews (5) and (9) and propeller shaft (4) from PTO shaft (2) and hydraulic pump shaft (8).

b. Installation

1.

Position universal joint ends (3) of propeller shaft (4) over PTO shaft (2) and hydraulic pump

shaft (8). Ensure universal joint ends (3) are seated properly over woodruff keys (6) of PTO

shaft (2) and hydraulic pump shaft (8).

2.

Install propeller shaft (4) on PTO shaft (2) and hydraulic pump shaft (8) with setscrews (5) and (9).

Ensure setscrews (5) and (9) seat properly in shaft channels (1) and (7).

FOLLOW-ON TASK: Start engine (TM 9-2320-272-10) and operate any accessory driven by the

transmission PTO-to-hydraulic pump propeller shaft. Stop engine (TM 9-2320-272-10)

and check shaft for looseness.
