Remove twelve screws (4), locktabs (5), six clamps (6), exhaust manifold (2), and six gaskets (3) from
three cylinder heads (1). Discard locktabs (5) and gaskets (3).
15.
Disconnect air compressor coolant line (9) and packing sleeve (8) from oil cooler elbow (7). Discard
packing sleeve (8).
16.
Remove five screws (13), lockwashers (12), oil cooler (14), and gasket (11) from cylinder block (10).
Discard lockwashers (12) and gasket (11).
WARNING
• Lifting device must have a weight capacity greater than the
combined weight of the engine and transmission to prevent
injury or death to personnel and damage to equipment.
• All personnel must stand clear during lifting operations. A
snapped cable, or swinging or shifiing load, may result in injury
or death to personnel.
• Engine must be securely mounted on repair stand. Failure to do
so may result in injury or death to personnel.
17.
Attach utility chain to two engine lifting eyes (20).
18.
Attach lifting device to utility chain.
NOTE
Assistant will help with step 20.
19.
Position engine (16) and two spacers (15) against engine stand, and install with four washers (17)
and bolts (18). Lower two bolts are installed in engine access holes (19).
20.
Remove lifting device and utility chain.
NOTE
• For disassembly, cleaning, inspection and reassembly of oil
cooler, refer to para. 4-23.
• For disassembly, cleaning, inspection and reassembly of power
steering pump, refer to para. 4-126 or 4-127.
