GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Tilt rear of transmission slightly downward to
prevent torque converter from sliding off.
• Engine must be securely mounted on repair stand.
• Ensure engine weight is evenly distributed.
• Lifting device must have a capacity greater than
the combined weight of the engine and
transmission.
• All personnel must stand clear during lifting
operations.
NOTE
Spacer will be present on late model engines only.
1.
Remove screw (1), lockwasher (2), washer (3), screw (9), lockwasher (8), washer (71, adjustable
link (5), spacer (6), and washer (4) from alternator (18). Discard lockwashers (2) and (8).
2.
Remove two screws (16), locknuts (11), washers (12), alternator belt (10), and alternator (18) from
engine block (19). Discard locknuts (11).
3.
Remove four screws (15), lockwashers (14), washers (13), and mounting bracket (17) from engine
block (19). Discard lockwashers (14).
