EQUIPMENT CONDITION
Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
l
Drycleaning solvent is flammable and toxic.
Do not use near an open flame.
l
Keep fire extinguisher nearby when using
drycleaning solvent.
PERSONNEL REQUIRED
Two
a. Side Roller Disassembly
NOTE
Repair procedures for both side rollers are the same.
This procedure covers the left side roller.
1.
Remove two screws (6), lockwashers (7), and lockplate (8) from bracket (3). Discard lockwashers (7).
NOTE
Assistant will help with steps 2 and 3.
2.
Remove shaft (5) from bracket (3).
3.
Remove roller (12), two thrust washers (9), and felt washers (10) from bracket (3). Discard felt
washers (10).
4.
Remove two bearings (11) from roller (12).
5.
Remove two screws (1), lockwashers (14), plate (2), and spacer (13) from bracket (3). Discard
lockwashers (14).
6.
Remove two grease fittings (4) from shaft (5).
b. Top and Bottom Roller Disassembly
NOTE
Perform left side roller removal if bottom roller is to be repaired.
1.
Remove two grease fittings (21) from shaft (22).
2.
Remove two screws (24), lockwashers (25), and lockplate (23) from bracket (26). Discard
lockwashers (25).
NOTE
Thrust washers may fall out.
3.
Remove shaft (22) from roller (20).
